Early Termination Cell Phone Fees To Be Illegal in California!

As of July 31, 2008, cell phone users have gained the upper hand . This is important because there are many people who have had to pay fees to disconnect their service for one reason or another. I currently have nine more months in my service contract. Since my funds are pretty low, I requested to temporarily stop my service, but I was informed that At&t no longer offers such a service. Presently, I am forced to continue to pay for a phone service (my contract started before May, so it’s $175 for me to disconnect but it’s $5 less each month for you if contract started after May) that I do not necessarily need at the moment  because I use my home phone service. I will keep my fingers crossed that the decision does not get reversed because I would like to discontinue my contract with my cell provider without paying the hefty termination fees. Are you in the same predicament?!
